The qualification phase of the World Programming Championship took place at Belgorod State University
The ICPC programming world championships have been held since 1977 according to a multi-level system: all world universities are divided into regions in which regional finals are held (in Russia this is the Northern Eurasia Finals in St. Petersburg). In large regions, the selection for the regional finals is based on the results of regional semi-finals (for the Belgorod region this is the championship of the South and Volga Russia in Saratov).
In the qualification stage of ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) 10 student teams from different universities of Belgorod took part. For four hours, participants competed in solving twelve different problems of increased complexity. The format of the competition involved solving problems with programming techniques and data structures.
According to the results of the competition, the team of the Belgorod State National Research University, consisting of: Evgeny Maslov, Alexey Gornostaev, Alexey Fedorkin (the trainer of the team is an assistant to the department of mathematical and software information systems Yana Eroshenko), became the best team in the qualification stage of the student team ICPC programming world championship in Belgorod).
The next stage of the student team programming world championship will be held from October 14 to 16 at the Saratov National Research State University, where the BelSU team will take part.
World Championship Finals 2019-2020 will be held in the summer in Moscow.
