Students from Belgorod State University spent a week in Crimea, absorbing the culture and history of the peninsular with the help of fellow students from Crimean Federal University and Sevastopol State University
The trip was sponsored by Rosmolodezh, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. Our delegation was led by Dr Irina Denisova, who is the Director of the University’s History Museum, and included musicians, student trade union activists, and other student leaders. The first port of call was the Crimean Federal University, where a series of lectures on the history of the area was capped with a visit to the war memorial, where the delegation paid their respects to the thousands who died fighting fascism.
With help from Sevastopol State University students, our group then took a whistle-stop tour of the Crimean Republic, taking in the sites of interest they had recently learned about in the lecture series.
