The VI regional French language phonetic competition was held at the Foreign Languages Faculty of the Pedagogical Institute
The competition is traditionally held under the aegis of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Department of German and French Languages of the Pedagogical Institute and the Center for Franco-Russian Studies at the Embassy of France in Moscow. More than 150 schoolchildren from Belgorod and Belgorod region took part in the competition this year. The guests of the competition were graduates of the faculty of foreign languages, representatives of the NRU “BelSU” University Graduates Association. Everyone was welcomed by the representative of the Center for Franco-Russian Studies Vincent Benet via video.
The jury of the competition, chaired by the head of German and French Department, Professor Arkady Sedykh, included leading teachers of the French language, as well as senior methodologist of the scientific-methodical information center Veronika Efanova and methodologist of the resource and methodical center for foreign language education "BelIRO" Elena Kalinina.
Contestants showed their skills and knowledge in five categories: song, sketch, poem recital, prose, fable. The best, according to the jury, were students: Ekaterina Shostak (school No. 50, Belgorod), Timofey Shovel (Komsomolskaya secondary school), Zlata Tarasova (gymnasium №2, Belgorod), Elizaveta Anikina, Polina Volkova (secondary school №28, Stary Oskol), Sofia Sozonenko (gymnasium №22, Belgorod).
- Thanks to the competition, schoolchildren and students develop interest in the French language, - said Professor Arkady Sedykh. – Furthermore, the event develops a keen interest in the history of Russian-French relations.
