East Asian New Year was celebrated at the Center for Intercultural Communication
Students of various institutes, including students of the largest Chinese community, foreign communities’ curators and university teachers took part in the celebration of the Chinese New Year. The participants of the holiday were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Youth Policy, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Svetlana Ostrikova. She wished everyone health, mutual understanding and friendship.
Chinese students treated those present with traditional national dishes, talked about national customs for celebrating the New Year, sang songs in their native language and held a kung fu master class. Teachers received personal letters of appreciation.
Celebrating different national holidays is one of the good traditions of the Belgorod State University, which helps developing respectful attitude to both national customs and specifics of other cultures.
