The students’ residence halls have been equipped with new board games
BelSU students residing at the dormitory can enjoy a wider option of leisure activities due to the new sports equipment. The Rector of the university Oleg Polukhin supported the students’ proposal to install board games facilities in the dormitory halls. Currently over 1300 students are accommodated at the dormitories. The biggest number is international students who had to stay in Belgorod due to the pandemic situation. According to the Director of BelSU Sports Club Vladimir Rudenko, the purchase of the sports equipment was coordinated by the dormitory activist group.
“We purchased two tennis tables, backgammon game, board games – football and hockey which have been placed in the halls. To ensure students’ leisure activities at the outdoor spaces on campus extra balls for football, volleyball and badminton games were purchased”, said Vladimir Rudenko.
Dormitory 4 hosts the Centre for Intellectual Sports where you can play chess or draughts. Besides, already in August new gyms will be opened in Dormitory 4 and Dormitory 5.
