NRU BelSU hosted the international video-conference «Development of Borderline Regions in Unsustainable Environment»
The Department of Social Technologies and Public Service at BelSU Institute of Economics and Management organized a videoconference on Development of Borderline Regions in Unsustainable Environment. The event brought together experts from Armenia, the Ukraine and Russian regions. The Head of the Department Viktor Saprika in his welcome speech underlined the importance of municipal and transborder cooperation for effective social and economic development of territories. Among the conference participants were a researcher of the Department of Regional Economic Policy at the Institute of Economics, Karelia Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ekaterina Shlapeko, Head of Department Public Health and Healthcare at Kursk State Medical University Tatiana Kameneva, Associate Professor of Department of International Relations and Diplomacy at Yerevan State University Grigor Balasanyan.
The colleagues discussed the current issues of borderline regions collaboration and supported the idea of organizing an international online discussion “Interregional Interaction and Transborder Cooperation of EAEU Member States”. Also the annual School of International Integration and Transborder Cooperation was announced to be held bringing together researches, deputies, civil servants, community leaders and representatives of borderline regions of Russia, the Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia and other countries. The event will take place at BelSU in the online format from 28 September till 2 October.
