A meeting of the Coordination Council on Organizing Work in Conditions of the Increased Risk under COVID-19 was held at BelSU
The meeting headed by the Rector Oleg Polukhin was held via videoconferencing. The Vice-Rector for Educational Alexander Mamatov informed that the university will gradually return to the conventional study schedule. As for the part-time or evening-class students, it is important for them to continue distance study. Oleg Polukhin emphasized that all decisions will be agreed with the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights (Rospotrebnadzor), which should advise on transition to a full-time schedule. Students with chronic illnesses or fear for their health can write an application and continue to study on distance.
“If Rospotrebnadzor approve transition to the full-time schedule, as recommended by the Order of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, over 50% of students will return to the classrooms within two weeks. There will be an increased control over the epidemiological situation,” stressed Oleg Polukhin.
The Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Vladislav Kuchmistiy noted that 18 countries have already ophier borders with Russia. 26 students from Egypt and the UAE have already arrived to study at BelSU. Currently, invitations have been sent to Indian students to obtain their visas.
