New sports GTO records will be set at a modern sports ground

The event was attended by Rector Oleg Polukhin, Natalya Zakhmatova, the Central Federal District Counselor for GTO of the Sports and Social Projects Directorate, Natalya Zhigalova, the Head of the Belgorod Region Department of Physical Culture and Sports, Vitaly Dunaytsev, the GTO Ambassador in Belgorod Region, Sergey Merkulin, the World Champion and record holder in kettlebell lifting, students and teachers.

In his welcome address to the students and guests Oleg Polukhin recalled that the university's athletes had more than once become triumphants of All-Russian competitions, and in December 2020 they also won the GTO Champions Festival “GTO Games”. Natalya Zakhmatova greeted the Belgorod athletes - champions of the sports festival and presented the sports ground equipment for GTO standards training.

The new sports ground was tested by the students of the Faculty of Physical Culture of Pedagogical Institute who had successfully passed the GTO complex trial. The modern equipment will be used in the trial training and meeting the standards by the customers attending S. Khorkina Sports Complex.
