Students and post-graduate students of BelSU Institute of Geosciences took part in a scientific teleconference dedicated to social and economic problems of Russia
During the teleconference Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Robert Nigmatulin, the Scientific Director of the Institute of Oceanology named after V.I. P.P. Shirshov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, gave a lecture on “Socio-Economic Problems of Russia” for the representatives of over 30 universities of the country.
Robert Nigmatulin informed that such factors as globalization and increased competition in the world market, environmental degradation, volatility of the world currencies, population aging, increase of the competitiveness of the Russian economy is becoming more and more vital.
Academician Yuri Malyshev, the President of V.I. Vernadsky State Geological Museum Russian of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Nikolai Miletenko, the Scientific Secretary of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, emphasized that teleconferencing with prominent scientists and academic figures is one of the priority areas of the Interuniversity Academic Center and contributes to achievement of the strategic goal – search and formation of a personnel reserve from among talented youth for industry and science.
