As of today, about three hundred students of BelSU Institute of Medicine work in healthcare facilities of Belgorod region
The unfavorable epidemiological situation, which has emerged in early autumn in Belgorod region, causes the lack of healthcare personnel. Many practicing physicians have had to return to the so-called “red zone”, while BelSU medical residents will substitute for them at their regular workplaces. The decision was been made during the working session of Chief Physicians of Belgorod Outpatient Clinic, Stary Oskol District Hospital, Gubkin Central District Hospital and first year physician residents with the involvement of Andrei Ikonnikov, Head Of Health Department and Nikolai Belousov, Director of the Institute of Medicine.
In accordance with the working session results, 59 resident physicians have been on deployment to the abovestated facilities as follows: 40 of them to the Belgorod Public Health Center, 13 to the Stary Oskol District Hospital, two of them to the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital and four of them to the Gubkin Central District Hospital. Young professionals will mainly work as physicians.
More medical residents will be involved, says Nikolai Belousov, Director of BelSU Institute of Medicine. According to Nikolai Belousov, 210 students of BelSU Institute of Medicine work at regional healthcare facilities in different positions. It is worth stating that more than 20 students of BelSU Vocational School of Medicine are also engaged.
