Russian language in the global educational space

Belgorod State University hosted the XIV International Research and Practice Conference “Language as A Factor for Educational Systems and Cultures Integration” organized by the Institute for Intercultural Communication and International Relations, Preparatory Department and supported by the Russian Society for Russian Language and Literature Teachers, Petrov Academy of Sciences and Arts. Teachers from Asia, Tunisia, Europe and Russian cities including Belgorod, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Ufa participated in the scientific forum held via videoconferencing to discuss the issues of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The representatives of the Russian Cultural Centre in Syria, Serbia and China co-organised the academic event.

While opening the conference, the Director of the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations Olga Prokhorova expressed hope for effective scientific dialogue at the forum. BelSU Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Vladislav Kuchmisty shared the idea of searching for new forms of cooperation in the sphere of Russian language and culture promotion in the world.

The representatives of various academic centres and universities presented their experience in cultural events organized for international students, talked about teaching tools for international students, demonstrated new teaching aids and electronic platforms for Russian as a foreign language teaching.

The participants of the conference expressed their hope for continued friendly relations and meeting next year in an offline format.
