Belgorod State University experience in adaptation of international students presented abroad

The Acting Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Office in Czech Republic Alina Shunina welcomed the participants. She thanked her colleagues for participation pointing out that science, education and culture are beyond politics.

Belgorod State University was represented by Elena Nazarenko, the Deputy Head of Preparatory Department, Associate Professor of Russian Language, Professional speech and Intercultural Communication Department and Darya Korobkova, the Associate Professor of the same department. The lecturers talked about the system of socio-cultural adaptation of international students implemented at Preparatory Department of Belgorod State University and conducted a master-class on the use of feature films at Russian as a foreign language classes. Elena Nazarenko noted that successful further education and a selection of a particular university largely depends on high-quality pre-university education and adaptation of foreign citizens.

“The work system of Preparatory Department makes it possible to integrate students into the new linguistic and cultural environment”, said Elena Nazarenko.

The seminar also enabled the Russian and Czech specialists in Russian philology to discuss topical issues of teaching Russian as a foreign language, as a non-native language, as a second mother tongue and share practical developments in the field of cutting-edge online resources for teachers and students.
