Olesya Voronina took 2nd place in the All-Russian competition “Seagull-2022” dedicated to the space flight of the world's first female cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, Hero of the Soviet Union
Over 70 girls from different regions of Russia participated in the fifth talent competition held in Yaroslavl – the home city of Valentina Tereshkova. “Seagull” competition was held with the support of the government of Yaroslavl region. According to the organizers, the competition was held to identify and support the most deserving young Russian women demonstrating outstanding performance in career, social life, creativity and sports.
OlesyaVoronina, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Physical Education of BelSU Pedagogical Institute represented Belgorod Region. “Seagull” competition was held in two stages. The first is consisted of self-presentation focusing on one’s achievements and a creative performance. As a result the jury represented by honored teachers, athletes, artists including Valentina Tereshkova’s daughter selected 10 finalists who went to Yaroslavl for the final stage.
The contestants passed intellectual and sports tests held at the Palace of Youth. The “Seagull” competition was finalized by a creative performance reflecting cultural traditions of each participant's homeland. As a result, OlesyaVoronina became the winner at the sports stage and took the second place in the competition. The winner of the competition was Victoria Ganaga from Yekaterinburg, the third place went to Valeria Yudkina from Moscow.
It should be noted that Olesya is a scholarship holder of the Government of the Russian Federation. According to the student, participation in the competition is a good incentive for self-improvement and an opportunity to gain new knowledge.
