A literary slam dedicated to World Poetry Day and Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia demonstrated creative potential of Belgorod State University students
The event conducted as part of the “Priority-2030” project was organized by the Information Policy Department and the Department of Educational Activities of Belgorod State University. The Centre for Intercultural Communication was not chosen by chance as the event venue since students representing many peoples of Russia study at the university. Among the participants of the literary slam “I am a Russian, I am the Lezgin, I am the Lak, I am the Yakut” were students of all institutes and colleges of Belgorod State University who prepared pieces of poetry by authors of different nationalities and ethnic groups. The poetry slam was attended by Sergey Anokhin, a poet from Belgorod, a member of the Russian Writers Union.
Elena Tsukanova, the Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Youth Policy of Belgorod State University welcomed the event participants and underlined the importance of the event for the multicultural family of Belgorod State University.
The poetry slam participants recited poems by Russian and international poets also in Russian, Lezghin, Dargin, Armenian and Azerbaijani languages.
At the end of the event Evgeny Tolmachev, the reporter of the Department of Information Policy who took the lead on the project work on “Building Creative Space in Youth Environment” talked about the university’s initiative aimed at uniting talented young people.
