An introductory career guidance tour was organized for the students of BelSU Preparatory Department y - participants of the International Intellectual Students Club
The “MIKS” club has been recently created to provide academic adaptation and acquaintance of the prospective international students with a variety of educational programs, deepening knowledge within the field of their study. One of the successful adaptation and career guidance forms include educational tours. One of such tours was organized for the international students of Preparatory Department at BelSU History Museum, Geology and Mineralogy Museum, Winter Garden and Belgorod Museum of Communications.
While visiting the Geology and Mineralogy Museum the engineering, natural science and technology students were introduced into Belgorod region geology and demonstrated “Dark Room”. The young people could see the natural glow of minerals under ultraviolet lamps in complete darkness in the room.
That day the humanities and sociology students also got acquainted with the unique exhibits of the university’s History Museum. Here they were shown the “To the Worthy” medal of Belgorod Teacher's Training Institute dated 1880s, a student card of 1908, sports awards of the university students and graduates and many other items.
At the end of the tour the students demonstrated the unique collection of flora and fauna of Winter Garden in the main building of the university campus located in Victory Street.
The familiarization programme was followed by the visit to the Museum of Communications where the international students had an interesting discussion on the history of communications development in Belgorod region.
According to the “MIKS” club members, they attended the tour with great interest and pleasure.
