Tourism and Hospitality in the new reality as seen by scientists and practitioners

The international forum organized by the Department of International Tourism and Hospitality of Belgorod State University in cooperation with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty Management University, Russian Geographical Society Centre in Serbia and ESPE Ecuador University became a communication platform that brought together scholars and practitioners for the dialogue on problems and prospects of tourism and hospitality in the new reality.

The conference participants discussed a wide range of issues: from import substitution, creation of new destinations, search for new niches, recreation formats, new package deals, technological trends to the future of tourism science and best practices in hospitality.

As stressed by Tatiana Klimova, the Head of the Department of International Tourism and Hospitality at BelSU Institute of Economics and Management, the travel industry is one of the most geopolitically sensitive sectors.

The topics of discussion went far beyond the declared topics of the conference programme which indicates the interest of scientists and practitioners in the of tourism development given the new challenges in the industry.

Speaking about the industry prospects, the scientists noted that in the conditions of closed borders and limited travel will lead many people a new value of travel, and perhaps set the benchmark for emerging trends.

As a result of the conference a collection of scientific articles will be published, and the best works will be reflected in the “Scientific Result. Technologies of Business and Service” journal of State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles (VAK).
