Awareness-raising activities involving international students of Belgorod State University were held at the Center for Intercultural Communication in the context of the civic-patriotic month “Pay Homage to the Great Years”
Anastasia Strzhalkovskaya, Associate Professor of the Russian Language, Professional Oral and Intercultural Communication Department, the Head of Uzbekistan and Vietnam Student Community, conducted an information and educational hour for international students “The Holy War of the Great Nation” which was followed by the literary and musical event “Verses Burned by the War”. The events were organized jointly by BelSU students and the Centre for Civic and Patriotic Education.
Russian students and representatives of foreign communities of Belgorod State University from different countries participated in the literary and musical event. They experienced the poetry and music of the war period, tried to understand and convey the feelings of people who suffered the war horrors, to appreciate the feat of the great Soviet people.
Songs and poems about the war by famous Soviet poets Vladimir Vysotsky, Semen Gudzenko, Konstantin Simonov, Bulat Okudzhava, Robert Rozhdestvensky, Evgeny Yevtushenko and others were performed by international students and Kristina Khabarova, the Director of the Centre for Intercultural Communication.
Inna Kuznetsova, the Director of the Centre for Civic and Patriotic Education paid attention to the most exciting all-Russian campaign “The Road to Obelisk” which was joined by the university students.
The events were concluded by the performance of the international ensemble which sang the song “Katyusha” accompanied by a violin.
