Belgorod State University team won in the 3rd All-Russian GTO Student Festival bringing together the representatives of 38 universities from 36 regions of Russia.
Belgorod State University team, being the winner of the two previous tournaments, once again successfully represented the region at the All-Russian level. The capital of the Chechen Republic Grozny became the venue of the All-Russian GTO Festival after Belgorod and Chelyabinsk. The third Student Sports Festival in the history of Russia was held at the S. G. Bilimkhanov Sports Complex.
Each higher education institution sent 8 participants (4 boys and 4 girls). Rustam Abdi Ogly, Ivan Agafonov, David Arakelyan, Kirill Belsky, Ekaterina Brazhnik, Lyubov Doroshchuk, Lyudmila Nerubenko and Yulia Sushkova represented Belgorod State University team.
In the individual classification, the competitors passed the following trials: 100 m distance race, 2000 m distance race (for women) and 3000 m distance race (for men), high bar pull-up (men) and low bar pull-up (women), 4 min dip up on the floor, stand and reach on a gym bench, 1min falling leaf, standing long jump with two legs, shooting with electronic weapons and the GTO Relay.
After several competition days the BelSU team was the first in the team classification with 4603 points. The second place went to the Ural State University of Physical Culture (4195 points), the third place was taken by the representatives of Siberian Federal University (4160 points).
Following the results of the men's individual all-around competition, all the three places were taken by the representatives of Belgorod State University. The unique challenge cup will remain at Belgorod State University for at least one year.
