A team including a student from Belgorod State University took the second place at the Startup House Universities inter-university accelerator in Kazan.
The Startup House Universities inter-university industrial accelerator was finalized in Innopolis, Kazan. A total of 150 Bachelors, Masters and doctoral students, as well as young scientists aged 16-35 participated in the event.
The “Silkins” team, consisting of ITMO students and BelSU student Danil Maklakov, won silver. The team presented a project on innovative web-based materials for accelerated regeneration of damaged soft tissue. Dauddin Daudi (ITMO), Maria Spiridonova (ITMO) and Vladislava Khramenkova (ITMO) worked with Danil on the idea.
In addition to the certificate of advanced entrepreneurial competency, the accelerator enabled the participants to exchange experience with 20 experts in early-stage startup development, meet like-minded people, work with business trackers, and apply for the Student Startup Grant.
The accelerator was held in several stages, each of them providing 50 participating teams with the opportunity to gain new knowledge, develop ideas and team up. The best 25 teams made it to the finals and were able to present their projects in person to investors and industrial partners at Innopolis University. The organisers of the event point it out that the winners can expect to continue their cooperation and receive funding.
It is worth noting that technological projects are more difficult to implement than socially-oriented ones, and the authors of such ideas need additional support from experts. BelSU held a student pre-accelerator at the Pegasus School of Project Management in 2022, which was meant as part of the “Priority-2030” strategic programme. The project headed by Maxim Semibratskiy, the Deputy Director of Higher School of Management, has been implemented on the “University without Borders” platform as part of the programme.
