International students of Law Institute from Nigeria undertook internship at BelSU Legal Clinic.
Internship at BelSU Legal Clinic assumed providing citizens with free legal assistance. As Tatyana Karpenko, the Director of the clinic noted, during the internship students have an excellent opportunity to get one step closer to a lawyer’s profession – get involved in solving a client's problem, prepare for a legal consultation or draw up a document. At the same time, there is an opportunity to be advised by more experienced colleagues. During the internship, international students demonstrated their knowledge in the field of civil law and procedure, actively participated in discussions. The trainees were interested in comparing Russian legislation with the laws of their country.
At the end of the internship the goal was achieved – the students submitted their court claims and motions for verification, which were compiled according to the real case summaries.
“During my internship at the legal clinic I learned how to make court claims and motions. It was an interesting experience that gave an opportunity to look into the profession of a legal consultant. In the future I wish to learn more about the rights and obligations of foreigners living in the Russian Federation”, Usiagwu Sharon Akachidinma shared her impressions of the internship.
