The Center for Intercultural Communication hosted an event dedicated to the “Mid-Autumn” Chinese holiday.
On order to get acquainted with one of China's favorite holidays, the Center for Intercultural Communication was visited by the students of the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations and activists of the student club “Welcome to Russia”. The holiday was prepared by the students of Chinese student community, and the event was opened by its curator Svetlana Funikova.
Students were introduced to the history of the holiday and its original meaning, not forgetting about the beautiful legend. The guests enjoyed the bright creative performances, playing the Chinese musical instrument – guzhen and being treated to traditional sweets – Yuebin gingerbread. The students of the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations congratulated the Chinese students in return, by making a presentation on “Mid-Autumn Holiday Through the Eyes of Russian Students” and reading poems in Chinese.
It is worth noting that BelSU Department of the Second Foreign Language also holds a regional drawing contest dedicated to this holiday. Children and adults studying Chinese can take part in it.
