The delegation discussed student training and interaction between both countries in the field of education and science at a meeting with BelSU Rector Oleg Polukhin.
The delegation headed by Botirjon Asadov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation, included Mehriddin Khayriddinov, the Adviser to the Uzbek Prime Minister and the Head of the Department for Rights Protection and Support of Uzbek Citizens Temporarily Employed Abroad, and Fatkhulla Abdurakhmanov, the First Secretary of the Embassy.
As Batirjon Asadov noted in his welcoming speech, over the past five years the relations between two countries in the field of education have expanded and deepened significantly.
At present 344 Uzbek students are studying at BelSU at all educational levels. Most of them are in Pedagogical Institute, Medical Institute and the Institute of Engineering and Digital Technology.
The issues related to organization of educational process, including distance learning were also discussed taking into account the current situation.
As Oleg Polukhin noted, the university has invested over 200 million roubles in developing the IT sphere order to ensure the high quality distance learning since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding was aimed at digitalisation of educational process, ensuring education based on distance learning technologies.
He also said that International Information Centre was launched at the university to solve any problems experienced by the international students. The Centre specialists are available round the clock to provide any consultative assistance. After the meeting with the Rector, the Embassy delegation met with the students from Uzbekistan studying at Belgorod State University and answered all the questions of the young people.
