A delegation from the Embassy of Mongolia paid a working visit to Belgorod.
Professor Oleg Polukhin, the Rector of the university, and the representatives of International Cooperation Department met with Ulziysaikhan Enkhtuvshin, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Russian Federation, Munhuu Sanchir, the Vice-Consul, and Munhbayar Batbold, the Second Secretary of the Embassy of Mongolia at Belgorod State University.
The delegation aimed to discuss the issues related to the housing conditions and education of Mongolian students in Belgorod.
Vladislav Kuchmisty, the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of Belgorod State University noted that four Mongolian students out of five students were staying in the city. One Mongolian Bachelor student, who has been enrolled to BelSU Institute of Engineering and Digital Technology this year as scholarship holders of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, stayed in Mongolia and is studying on distance.
The Rector acquainted the guests with the university’s facilities, the housing conditions provided for international students as well as introduced them to the education specifics due to the students transition to distance learning.
“Today the university provides all the conditions for high quality education of our students. The digital learning platform developed at the university will enable the students to attend classes from any location. This process was adjusted and tested during the COVID pandemic and proved its efficiency”, said Oleg Polukhin. He also underlined that the students’ safety has always been and remains a major priority, taking into account the fact that the total number of students at the university exceeds 25,000.
The Rector paid the Ambassador's attention to the fact that Belgorod State University currently educates over 4,000 international students from 100 countries. University tutors and mentors assist in their adaptation to the new conditions. Besides, the International Information Centre specialists are available around the clock and are ready to provide any advisory support.
