The 10th Moscow International Engineering Forum “Engineering Staff - the Basis of Technological Independence” brought together representatives of universities, ministries and leading enterprises, which are focused on training highly qualified engineering staff.
The anniversary international forum, which was held in the context of the Decade of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation, was dedicated to contemporary problems of engineering education. Belgorod State University, also providing engineering education, was represented by Nikolay Repnikov, the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation.
The themed round tables covered such topics as “Sustainable Production and Technology Chains in the Present Context”, “Workforce Balance and Government Order Needs” and “Specific Features of Training Specialists in Information and Telecommunication Systems Security”. They were attended by the representatives of educational institutions and businesses.
Issues that would help to enhance engineering staff training were raised during the plenary session. The participants discussed development the criteria of demand for certain engineering fields of study at different enterprises and design of a common personnel doctrine. They also discussed the improvement of employer-sponsored education, including the possibility of support of further training in engineering fields from the regional grants. Much attention was paid to strengthening cooperation between business, industry and government agencies to provide greater support for manufacturing, as well as with the science to develop and implement new inventions and technologies, especially import-substituting ones.
The problems and proposals that were formulated during the forum will be forwarded to the ministries, and the most important issues may be discussed in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
The forum also included an exhibition of dual-purpose products, which reflected the latest developments from the country's leading enterprises and universities.
