International Conference on A Language in Educational Systems held at Belgorod State University

The scientific event was held with the support of the Russian Society of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature and brought together scientists from Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Syria, Serbia and the Slovak Republic. Every year the conference is initiated by the Russian Language, Professional Speech and Intercultural Communication Department. This year the conference was co-organised by the Kosygin Russian State University (Moscow).

Beside BelSU representatives the conference was attended by the lecturers of Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economics and Law, G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University as well as language teachers from colleges and schools of the region.

Olga Prokhorova, the Director of the Institute for Intercultural Communication and International Relations, welcomed the participants stressing the importance of Russian language in the modern context.

The conference featured presentations on various issues of the language. Professor Tatiana Samosenkova focused on the role of a special text as viewed by the linguistic didactics. Andrei Polonsky, the Head of the Department of Journalism, made a presentation on Russian language in the context of media culture. Professor Elena Ozerova turned to the topic of a university’s language space based on the associative experiment.

Foreign speakers attending the conference included Abduvali Eshkobilov from Samarkand State University, who presented educational programs on Russian language and literature taught in Uzbekistan.

The scholars exchanged their experience in teaching languages in multicultural environment, discussed the problems of digitalisation of teaching and asked questions of interest to their colleagues from the leading universities.
