For the ninth time the Centre for Intercultural Communication hosted the traditional event organised by international students of Belgorod State University.
The Christmas charity concert is one of the most large-scale essential social events organized by the international student communities of Belgorod State University, the Centre for Intercultural Communication and Peoples' Friendship Centre, and supported by the university administration.
Traditionally, the audience attended the concert with a toy. All presents collected at the event were given to children treated at the Onco-Hematological Department of the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, the pupils of the Belgorod Region Public Organization “Holy Belogorye against Children's Cancer” and Belgorod Public Organization of Disabled Children “Warmth of Soul”.
As in the previous years the concert was prepared by the students from different countries studying at BelSU.
Elena Tsukanova, the Vice-Rector for Discipline and Youth Policy, Vladislav Kuchmisty, the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, the curators of international students communities, other Russian and international students of Belgorod State University, the representatives of charitable institutions attended the event.
The vice-rectors, opening the event, congratulated everyone with the upcoming holidays, thanked all the participants of the charity event and organisers of the Christmas concert.
The concert programme included 16 performances by students from Syria, Egypt, Togo, Ghana, Haiti, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, India, China, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, studying at Belgorod State University. The creative programme was quite extensive, featuring songs in Spanish, English, French and Russian. Spencer Kwao from Ghana delighted the audience with his masterly Christmas piano fantasia. Micaela Rojas, a student from Ecuador, recited a self-composed Christmas poem in Spanish. The children from Latin America surprised everyone with a tango – the dance of love and passion. Kristina Khabarova, the Director of the Centre for Intercultural Communication, also participated in the concert as a vocal solo performer.
