The workshop under the project on “Building Creative Spaces for Young People” of the “University without Borders” platform under the “Prioritet-2030” strategic programme was dedicated to the opportunities opened to young people by literary work.
The literature workshop was held at the Media Centre of Belgorod State University and streamed live at the university's platform. The guest speaker was Vera Kobzar, a poetess and the Chairperson of the regional branch of Russian Writers' Union. The meeting was moderated by Evgeny Tolmachev, a correspondent of the Department of Information Policy, the Head of the work package in the project “Building of Creative Spaces for Young People”.
Among the guests of the literary workshop were students, doctoral students and lecturers of Belgorod State University. The audience was much wider in the Internet space. Over 1,500 people from the university's official group at VKontakte social network watched the steaming. Vera Kobzar, the Chairperson of the regional branch of Russian Writers' Union, talked about cooperation with BelSU as part of the project on “Building of Creative Spaces in Young People”, which provides young prose writers and poets with new knowledge and invaluable experience in literary work.
The university guest announced a number of poetry and music contests for students of Belgorod State University. Vera Kobzar also spoke about the measures taken by Russian Writers' Union to support creative young people, in particular in publishing books.
The audience asked questions about earning potential through for literary workers, audiobooks and educational literature. At the end of the streaming Vera Kobzar gave some valuable practical advice to young authors.
