Activists from BelSU international students communities of presented their national traditions to the patients of Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation Centre.
The students from Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Algeria, Iraq, Syria, Jordan and Ecuador were brought together by the event. The international students shared the specifics and traditions of their cultures and prepared interesting geographical quizzes. They also performed ethnic dances, songs in their native languages and even played national musical instruments.
The students were accompanied by Elena Nazarenko, the Deputy Head of Preparatory Department, who once again stressed the importance of such events for the immersion of international students in a socio-cultural environment.
Al-Natour Mohammad, a student from Jordan, remarked that he had been impressed by the knowledge and erudition of the elderly people, undergoing rehabilitation at the Centre.
Kristina Khabarova, the Director of the Centre for Intercultural Communication at Belgorod State University, who organised the meeting, reminded that international students participating in the university’s volunteer movement regularly hold charity concerts and campaigns at the Centre in order to collect gifts for orphans, patients of Onco-Hematology Department of Children's Regional Clinical Hospital and disabled people, foster-children from the Community Based Organization for the Disabled from Childhood “Warm of the Soul”. One can also make donations to the “Svyatoye Belogorye Against Children's Cancer” Foundation.
