An Associate Professor of the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations gave a lecture as part of the #Lectory project of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
Associate Professor Anastasia Strzhalkovskaya gave a lecture on the history of a Russian costume at the Multimedia Centre Belgorod State University. The lecturer explained that the national costume is an essential and invaluable piece of heritage of the Russian people’s culture, accumulated through centuries.
“The origin of a Russian folk costume goes back many centuries. As a result, the costume has been adapted to people’s lifestyle as much as possible and its making techniques have carefully been worked out”, said Anastasia Strzhalkovskaya.
During the lecture Anastasia focused on the peculiarities and details of a Russian costume. She noted that a shirt had been the core element of any Russian dress, which was of waist-length in a men's dress and full-length in a women's garment. The lecturer also told about the specifics of a women's costume in Belgorod region.
The educational stream aroused great interest among the audience. Over one thousand visitors watched it online. The lecture is available in the official group of Belgorod State University in the VKontakte social network.
