The student team of BelSU Institute of Social Sciences and Mass Communications took the third place in the IV International Social Innovations Subject Competition.
The “DobroBoty” team consisted of the students majoring in Social Work – Ilya Dolzhenkov, Maxim Egorov, Anna Zhigili, Olga Zelenkova and Sofia Nabokikh.
The subject competition was organised by the Department of Social Work and Recreation Therapy of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the Belarus State University. All in all, 11 teams from different higher educational institutions of Belarus and Russia participated in the event. The subject competition consisted of five stages: “Field of Study Advertising”, competition of social development projects, “Social Expert” knowledge test, case competition and a quiz. The participants were able to demonstrate a maximum of knowledge and practical skills.
The jury highly appreciated the presented social development project “Ray of Light” aimed at increasing the level of socio-cultural adaptation of visually impaired and blind children and teenagers in Belgorod and providing them with tactile books.
According to the results of all stages of the competition, BelSU team of and Novosibirsk State Technical University team, gaining the equal points, shared the third place, after the team of North Caucasian Federal University, which took the first place, and the host of the competition – the team of Belarus State University, coming the second.
The participants of the “DobroBoty” team thanked the administration and lecturers of the Social Work Department of Institute of Social Sciences and Mass Communications Ksenia Koroleva, Irina Voloshina and Marina Polenova for their assistance in preparing for the subject competition.
