Winners of “Time to Speak Russian!” competition awarded at BelSU

Traditionally, the project was initiated by Preparatory Department jointly with the Department of Russian Language, Professional Speech and Intercultural Communication of the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations.

This year the event was attended by the international students of the 1^st and 2nd year of study, preparatory departments students of Russian and foreign universities, as well as students and pupils from 26 educational organizations, including the Syrian Arab Republic, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Welcoming speech was made by Vladislav Kuchmisty, the Chairman of the Competition Organizing Committee, the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Tatiana Samosenkova, the Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee, Professor of the Russian Language, Professional Speech and Intercultural Communication Department. Vladislav Kuchmisty congratulated the competition winners and runners-up, emphasizing the teachers' contribution to the promotion of Russian language and the importance of the stated agenda.

The winners and participants were presented with diplomas and souvenirs from the BelSU Trade Union Organization. Elena Ilyinichna, the Russian language course manager of the Russian House in Damascus, a lecturer of Al-Wadi University of Damascus, prepared a video to congratulate the winners and supervisors of the competition.

The event also honoured the winners of the multidisciplinary competition in chemistry and biology. Participation in such projects also promotes interest of Preparatory Department students in learning sciences.
