The second season of the national paper waste collection campaign was held from March till June and attracted over 95,000 participants from all over the country.
Belgorod State University was amongst the top ten universities and colleges in Russia, collecting the most waste paper under the national ecological campaign “One Million for the Motherland”!
As part of the campaign, students and lecturers of Belgorod State University collected over three tons of waste paper. The university leaders were represented by Pedagogical Institute and the Institute of Geosciences. The second place went to the Institute of Economics and Management, the runner up was the Institute of Engineering and Digital Technology.
“Following the modern trends in environmental friendliness, young people are actively involved in collecting recyclable materials. Such dedication to environmental and social issues contributed to collecting over half a million roubles for charity, which will be spent on humanitarian aid”, said Denis Butsaev, the Director of Regional Environmental Operator.
All the money raised will be used to help those in need in LNR, DNR and Zaporizhzhya region, as well as to support universities in preparing for the new academic year.
