66 students from different countries will improve their foreign language skills for two weeks.
The ceremony of International Language School opening, held both in full-time and distance formats, was hosted by the Centre for Intercultural Communication. Larisa Tsurikova, the Director of the Centre for International and Foreign Language Education, announced that the school participants would enjoy two weeks of classes with native-speaking teachers. The classes as part of “Prioritet-2030” Programme project will be held at BelSU grounds located in Pobeda Street.
Alexey Chernitsov, the Acting Vice-Rector for Education, while welcoming the students and teachers, talked about the opportunities opened through learning foreign languages.
Larisa Tsurikova presented Alexey Chernitsov with an ILS T-shirt on behalf of the whole staff of the school. Professor Valentin Doborovich, one of the school founders, focused on its traditions originated during 11 years. He emphasized that International Language School had united people for many years.
This year the school mentors include the leading teachers of the Centre for Foreign Language Education and Academic Writing: Valentin Doborovich, Omar Contreras, Jan Turner, Pavel Ngatheyo, Alessandra Marabini, Nadezhda Semashkina, Yulia Klimova and others. Lectures, masterclasses, music classes in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Serbian will be organized for the participants. International students have an opportunity to study Russian as a foreign language at school. The opening ceremony was crowned with singing the International Summer Language School anthem accompanied by the guitar.
