Meetings dedicated to extremism and terrorism prevention were held at BelSU Coordination Centre as part of “Otkritiy Dialog” discussion panel.
Over 350 students from Medical Institute and the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations participated in the meetings organised by the staff of Coordination Centre of Belgorod State University.
The topics covered at the discussion panel included information security in social networks on the Internet and anti-terrorism legal acts of the Russian Federation, extremism, false information, extremism and terrorism prevention in the youth community, as well as measures against extremism ideology.
Roman Shilishpanov, the Deputy Director of Coordination Centre, responsible for engaging young people in civic activities, prevention of inter-ethnic and inter-confessional conflicts, countering the terrorism ideology and extremism prevention at BelSU, spoke at the meeting.
The students learnt about the idea and signs of terrorism and extremism in order to inform young people about these dangerous phenomena, to make them realize the extent of responsibility and consequences for engagement in the activities of extremist and terrorist organisations, as well as for posting and reposting false information in the social networks.
Roman Shilishpanov noted that “Otkritiy Dialog” meetings with students would be maintained.
