The interregional scientific-practical conference took place at the Department of Paediatrics of the Medical Institute of BelSU, attended by more than 200 practicing doctors from different regions of the country.
The fifth Belgorod Paediatric Readings were organised by the joint efforts of BelSU, the Department of Health Care of Belgorod Region and the Children's Regional Clinical Hospital of Belgorod. The conference was held in a mixed format. The Conference was attended by 108 doctors of Belgorod region and more than 100 doctors from different regions of the country.
Acting Rector of BelSU Evgenia Karlovskaya launched the Conference via a video link. She highlighted the importance of such events for the exchange of experience, practical knowledge and developments in different areas of paediatrics. Evgenia A. Karlovskaya also pointed out that BelSU participates in the region's healthcare system and trains highly qualified specialists in the medical sphere.
- Since the beginning of this year the Children's Regional Clinical Hospital has signed 63 agreements on employer-sponsored education of students and residents. This result is a natural consequence of our close co-operation. I would also like to express my gratitude for the admission of graduates of the medical college of the medical institute, - announced Acting Rector.
Practicing doctors from Belgorod, Voronezh, St. Petersburg, Kursk and Yaroslavl spoke at the Readings. Particularly relevant topics were the speeches of Irina Kizilova, chief of medicine of the Belgorod Children's Regional Clinical Hospital, on the organisation of rehabilitation care for children in Belgorod, and Irina Kleimenova, head of the psychoneurological department of the Voronezh Regional Children's Clinical Hospital No. 1, on the topic "The Moment of Truth" or the difficulties of diagnosing Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The Leader of the direction "Paediatrics", Head of the "Paediatrics" department BelSU Elena Balakireva stressed in her speech that many reports were devoted to the problems of infectious pathology in children, which is traditionally associated with the period of the "Autumn Belgorod Paediatric Readings». Elena A. Balakireva especially emphasised that interregional events are necessary for practitioners to exchange both knowledge and specific cases from their practice, which can help in prompt diagnosis and treatment planning for patients.
