21 scientific projects are being implemented at BelSU National Research University under the strategic academic leadership program "Priority-2030".
The interim results of the implementation of scientific projects for the third quarter of 2023 at the meeting of the council of the platform "Science of the XXI century" were summed up by the head of the strategic project of the same name – Acting Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of BelSU National Research University Nikolay Repnikov. Nikolay Ivanovich noted that a total of 21 projects are currently in operation in different clusters. In 2023, six projects of different scientific orientation and one – "Development of innovative project activities and improvement of startup culture among students" - of institutional significance were opened.
Nikolay Ivanovich said that by the end of this year they plan to get 91 unique results. In general, the projects are being implemented in accordance with the plan. But managers should pay attention to contracts with organizations of the real sector of the economy. We need more partnerships, we need to work on this.
Damir Tagirov, Director of the Center for Collective Use of Technologies and Materials of BelSU National Research University, reported on the implementation of the project "Development and optimization of technological processes in foundry production", calculated until December 2025. The result should be the development of at least seven developed technological solutions and the launch of low-tonnage production with the release of at least five experimental batches of castings of promising materials for the needs of organizations in the real sector of the economy.
Damir Vagizovich explained that in order to achieve the goal, they adapted foreign analogues, worked out the developed technological processes and mastered practical techniques for manufacturing products with a stable value of indicators and in a given launch volume.
The speaker noted that at the moment two scientific results have been obtained, registered as know-how: a method for manufacturing aluminum alloys in a protective atmosphere and a unique design of a device for capturing slag in the manufacture of aluminum alloys by semi-continuous casting. At the next exhibition of achievements, these results will be presented on separate stands.
Anton Noskov, Head of the Department, reported on the main results of the Department of Theoretical and Experimental Physics and ongoing projects within the framework of the "Science of the XXI century" stratproject, as well as development prospects for the coming year. He noted that the department is mainly engaged in fundamental science and research, while 100% of the teaching staff under the age of 39 have a PhD or doctorate degree, one teacher teaches in English.
Andrey Oleinik, Senior researcher at the International Scientific and Educational Laboratory of Radiation Physics, made a presentation on the initiation of the project "Development of an experimental installation for surface and near-surface disinfection of food products". The scientist drew attention to the fact that at the moment in Russia this area of research and development of equipment is relevant, since the sphere is extremely poorly developed even in comparison with the countries of Latin America and Asia. At the same time, the laboratory of BelSU National Research University has the necessary basic infrastructure for the development and testing of radiation disinfection technology. If the project is supported, talented youth of the region will be involved in its implementation, which will improve the quality of the personnel potential of the region.
Svetlana Gaivoronskaya, Head of the project office of BelSU National Research University, told about the new procedure for selecting projects in the portfolio of the "Priority 2030" program. Now the documents on the launch of projects will be signed directly at the project session – the next one will be held at the end of November. Therefore, they must be carefully worked out. Before the project session, a project showcase will be held, which is scheduled for October 20, where a preliminary demonstration of project initiatives will take place. From October 20 to November 23, a series of design workshops will be held with the participation of structural divisions of the university, which will help in supporting projects, including establishing ties with industrial partners.
Svetlana Alexandrovna explained that if the project manager needs some kind of support from our supporting structural units - for calculating the budget, providing legal assistance, and so on – they will be assisted in preparing the project for defense at this project workshop, so that they come out qualitatively prepared for the project session.
