Vladislav Kuchmisty, Acting Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, has participated in the Forum of foreign graduates of Soviet and Russian universities - representatives of the education and healthcare systems of Asian countries. Vladislav A. Kuchmisty represented the university with a report on "Scientific and Educational Diplomacy of BelSU».
There was a meeting of rectors and vice-rectors of Russian universities with Gennady Bezdetko, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, in Vietnam, where global issues of Russian-Vietnamese co-operation in education and healthcare were discussed with consideration of modern challenges. The conversation continued during the meeting with the Minister of Education and Deputy Minister of Health of Vietnam. The participants of the meeting discussed ways to intensify scientific and academic cooperation and issues of training medical specialists for the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The forum also featured a working meeting with Madam Truong Thi Phuong Thanh, Dean of the Russian Language Faculty of the partner Hanoi University. The parties confirmed their mutual interest in resuming co-operation in a wide range of areas. In particular, it was discussed to establish joint interdisciplinary programmes in the fields of Philology (Profile: Russian as a Foreign Language), Tourism, Economics, Media Communications, International Relations.
Representatives of the main higher education institution of the country, Vietnam National University, showed interest in participation in the project on integration of artificial intelligence in education, which BelSU is implementing jointly with the East China Pedagogical University.
During the meeting with the administration of the Pushkin Institute of Russian Language in Hanoi, where Nguyen Mai Quynh, a graduate of BelSU, has been working, an agreement was reached on the first steps of the forthcoming cooperation and, first of all, on the organisation of a summer language school for Vietnamese schoolchildren on the basis of BelSU. BelSU received the offer to participate in a specialised exhibition of Russian higher education institutions in November and to join the consortium of universities that promote the Russian language in Vietnam.
At the Forum Vladislav Kuchmisty had the opportunity to communicate with BelSU graduates from Vietnam, who still remember their alma mater with fondness. Now they are ready to participate in the establishment of a representative office of the BelSU Graduates Association in their home country. At least 75 graduates are already ready to join it.
For reference: The co-operation agreement was in force between BelSU and the University of Hanoi from 2018 to 2023. However, the interaction was disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
