The III National Operative Surgery of the Pelvic Organs Olympiad with international participation was held in Tyumen.
It is the only field-specific Olympiad in Russia focused on the research of the pelvic organs. 12 teams representing medical institutes from Belgorod, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladivostok, and Ryazan took part in the Olympiad. The Belgorod State University team consisted of eight people and included Anastasia Dzyuba, Gogorov Komi Prosper, Svetlana Leonova, Anastasia Osinina, Adelina Ladygina, Artyom Nadein, Ekaterina Ababsakh and Irina Chernyshenko. The guys are members of BelSU student scientific clubs in surgery, obstetrics and gynecology.
Our team participated in a surgical quiz and demonstrated skills in pelvic operative surgery in gynecology, urology, coloproctology and pediatric surgery. The competitions included both theoretical and practical parts.
The BelSU team has taken well-deserved second and third place in such nominations as the Operative Surgery of the Pelvic Organs in Pediatric Surgery and the Operative Surgery of the Pelvic Organs in Urology.
“Participation in the Olympiad provides a great opportunity in preparation for work in a real operating theatre, which is very important for students. We have an experienced team, the guys attend gynecology and surgery clubs. Last year in Tyumen, we took second and third place in separate competitions in the same way,” said Gogovor Komi Prosper, the Team Captain.
