The International Dental Forum was held at the “BelSU” National Research University

The large-scale scientific and practical event with the participation of scientists and experts from 37 regions of Russia and other countries brought together more than 600 people. For the first time in the last three years, the conference was held in a offline format. During three days on the grounds of Belgorod State University there were educational intensives led by leading experts-practitioners in the field of dentistry and profile exhibitions.

- At this conference, the issues of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in dentistry are discussed in great detail. This is primarily the issue of tomorrow, but if we don't prepare for it today, we will lose out to the challenges of progress tomorrow. However, artificial intelligence will never replace a human and a doctor. It is only a tool that can be used by a specialist to optimize his work, - stated Alexander Tsimbalistov, the head of "Dentistry" at the Medical Institute of the National Research University "BelSU".

Alexander Viktorovich added that the conference had a practical focus. Doctors from Belgorod region and other regions learned about new technologies in dentistry. All events were accredited in the system of continuing medical education. This affects the accreditation of specialists, which is held every five years.

The results of the international conference "Stomatology of Slavic States" were summed up at the plenary session in the youth cultural center of the university. The moderator was the Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry of the Medical Institute of the National Research University "BelSU", Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Professor Sergei Gontarev. Acting Rector of Belgorod State University Evgenia Karlovskaya, Head of the Department of Digital Technology of Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry, Professor Sergei Arutyunov, Head of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry of the Russian University of People's Friendship Igor Lebedenko and others became guests of honor.

Welcoming the participants, Evgeniya Karlovskaya emphasized the importance of such events for the development of medicine in the country.

- It is great that specialists share their experience with our students. The peculiarity of the conference is that it covers not only theoretical, but also practical issues of diagnostics, treatment and prevention, including the application of artificial intelligence in the field of medicine, - Evgenia Anatolievna said.

Academician Oleg Yanushevich, Chief Stomatologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Academician Vladimir Filippov, Valery Leontiev, Peter Glybochko, Academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Sergei Rubnikovich, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Ivanov, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Fyodor Losev, Honored Worker of Science addressed the conference participants via teleconference.

Also at the plenary session there was a solemn ceremony of awarding the representatives of the stomatological community of the region. Acting Rector Evgeniya Karlovskaya congratulated the head of the "Dentisty" department of the Medical Institute of the National Research University "BelSU" Alexander Tsimbalistov with the title "Honorary Worker of Science and High Technologies of the Russian Federation" and together with Alexander Viktorovich awarded the best dentists of the Belgorod region.

The Order "For Merits to Dentistry" of the II degree was awarded to Elena Veremenko, chief doctor of the children's dental polyclinic of Stary Oskol. Medals "Excellent Dentist" received the chief doctor of OOO Family Dentistry Andrey Peryazev, dentist of children's dental polyclinic of Belgorod Olga Dorina and head of the dental department, therapist of Korochanskaya CRH Tamara Tsotsorina.

During the plenary session speakers from different cities of Russia made presentations. Dentists discussed issues of treatment and rehabilitation of patients, considered complex and interesting cases from medical practice, shared their experience of using advanced technologies, artificial intelligence and neural networks in treatment and diagnostics.
