The Center for Intercultural Communication "BelSU" took place a trip around the world called "Student Planet", dedicated to International Students' Day.
The event, organized by the N.N. Strakhov Scientific Library together with the Center for Intercultural Communication, was attended by students of all institutes and colleges of Belgorod State University.
The presenter of the evening, chief librarian Nadezhda Malygina, told the participants of the event about International Students` Day and the traditions of its celebration in different countries.
– Almost no university stays away from the noisy and long-awaited holiday. This day is an occasion to unite all students, regardless of country and educational institution,” noted Nadezhda Nikolaevna.
The audience was shown a video “November 17 – International Students` Day”, which introduced them to the history of the holiday. International students represented their countries with presentations and creative performances.
The guides on the trips around the countries were: Bakhar Jumaeva (Turkmenistan), Zarina Mamatalieva (Republic of Uzbekistan), Parinoz Parvinzoda (Republic of Tajikistan), Ferjushia Meriyam (Morocco), Ravda Abdelatif (Egypt). Students from Ecuador won the hearts of the event participants with their creative performances: Josue Rommel - virtuoso piano playing, and Josue Delgado Lara - fiery dance.
At the end of the event, the staff of the N.N. Strakhov Scientific Library and the Center for Intercultural Communication congratulated the young people on International Students' Day and wished to preserve student enthusiasm for many years.
For reference: The International Students' Day is celebrated annually on November 17. It was established in 1941 at the international London (Great Britain) meeting of students of countries that fought against fascism, but it began to be celebrated in 1946. The date was set in memory of the Czech patriotic students in connection with the tragic events in Czechoslovakia in 1939. International Students' Day is celebrated in many countries of the world and is popular among students.
