The Interdisciplinary Medical Forum was held at NRU BelSU

The Forum was held under the auspices of the National Research University "Belgorod State University", the Ministry of Health of the Belgorod Region, the Belgorod Regional Public Organisation "Association of Doctors of the Belgorod Region" and the "Central State Medical Academy" of the Russian Presidential Administration. The participants were from different regions of Russia and Middle East countries. Among the participants were not only researchers and experienced practitioners, but also senior students, residents and postgraduate students of the Medical Institute of the NRU BelSU.

The forum presidium included Deputy Director of the Medical Institute of the NRU BelSU on scientific and international activities, Head of the Department of Family Medicine Nina Zhernakova, chief freelance therapist of the Ministry of Health of the Belgorod region, chief physician of the city polyclinic of the city of Belgorod Olga Polyakova and Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Association of Physicians of the region Sergei Nikolaev.

The work of the forum was organised in two sections: "Topical issues of therapy and general medical practice" and "Modern aspects of paediatrics and neonatology". The topics of speakers' presentations covered various aspects of diagnostics and treatment of adult and paediatric patients. They paid attention to the issues of gastroenterology, cardiology, pulmonology, gerontology, palliative care, problems of rational pharmacotherapy, peculiarities of tactics of management of adolescent and paediatric patients.
Numerous presentations at the forum caused genuine interest among the attendees, and questions addressed to the speakers often turned into lively discussions.

- The choice of BelSU as a base for the forum once again confirmed the university's reputation as an entity capable of successfully organising and holding events of such a high level. We hope it will also help to stimulate interest in scientific work among young specialists of the region and students of our university, - said the Head of the Department of Family Medicine of NRU BelSU Nina Zhernakova.
