Graduation certificates were presented to 25 graduates of the program on the basics of Arabic writing and pronunciation.
The ceremony took place at Mahmoud Darwish Centre for Arabic Language and Culture. Elena Nazarenko, the Head of the project “Facilitating Interaction between BelSU and Arab students” under “Prioritet-2030” Program, congratulated the students on successful graduation. She emphasized that the language is the key element of understanding the culture and traditions of Arab countries, the basis of friendship and partnership of different nations.
Ahmed Mansour, the Head of Mahmoud Darwish Centre for Arabic Language and Culture, presented graduation certificates to 25 students and expressed hope that the knowledge gained would help them in their future life and career.
During their studies the students had an opportunity not only to learn the language, but also to indulge in the history, culture and atmosphere of the Middle East and North Africa, which was lovingly created by the instructors of El Mhadi Centre – Fatima Zohra from Morocco and Alali Ola from Syria, as well as students and alumni from Arab countries.
The official part of the event was filled in the atmosphere of Arab hospitality: the participants were invited to join traditional Arab tea drinking and a photo session in Arab national costumes. It was a great way to learn more of the Arab culture and feel a part of it.
In February the Mahmoud Darwish Centre for Arabic Language and Culture will once again open its doors to students learning the basics of Arabic writing and pronunciation. This time the classes will be held for the teaching staff and administration of Belgorod State University, as well as Belgorod citizens.
