International students from BelSU and the University of Carthage recited Russian classics

The informative “Russian Classics Reading” event organised jointly with the youth branch of Coordinating Board of Russian Compatriots Organizations and supported by Russian House in Tunisia, brought together students of lyceums and institutes studying Russian language and courses trainees of Russian House in Tunisia.

The children recited pieces from their favourite works by famous Russian authors, and the competent jury assessed the level of Russian language skills and artistry of the participants. The main competition assumed the best team reading of Russian poems.

Students from Palestine, Syria, Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon, Jordan and Russia, being the activists of BelSU Mahmoud Darwish Centre for Arabic Language and Culture, guided by Elena Nazarenko, the curator of the Middle East countries, prepared an expressive recital of Mikhail Lermontov's poem “A Branch of Palestine”.

The event organisers – the Tunisian Association of Russian Language and Literature Teachers, as a permanent participant of BelSU events, and the representatives of Russian House in Tunisia – expressed their gratitude for fruitful cooperation to the administration and teaching staff of Belgorod State University and to Mahmoud Darwish Centre for Arabic Language and Culture.
