BelSU students become prize-winners of the All-Russian Graduation Thesis Competition

In 2023 over 200 graduation thesis works in three fields of study and four program tracks from 26 universities were submitted for the competition. As a result, students of BelSU Institute of Earth Sciences Ksenia Borina and Anastasia Zvereva became III degree award holders.

According to Ksenia, her thesis work on “Forecast of Water Inflows into Prioskolsky Open-Cast at Different Mining Stages Due to Numerical Geofiltration Modelling Method” enabled her to develop a set of measures on labour protection, as well as in industrial safety and ecology.

Elena Leontieva, the student's supervisor, the Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Geology and Mining Engineering of the Institute of Earth Sciences, emphasised the student’s work provided for development of a geofiltration model in a special software system, which was based on the pre-developed OAO “Viogem” model.

All the winners and runners-up were awarded with honourary certificates of the All-Russian competition.
