The event was organised by the Chair of Social Work and Rehabilitation Science of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Belarus State University.
Among the participants of the V SocialInnovations Eurasian Student Competition there were 9 universities of Russia and Belarus. Belgorod State University was represented by “Kindness Mission” team, consisting of the students of the Department of Social Work of BelSU Institute of Social Sciences and Mass Communications: Ilya Mishustin, Yulia Surikova, Anna Markova, Mikhail Rublev and Yulia Krisko. The team guided by Ksenia Koroleva and Irina Voloshina, the lecturers of the Department of Social Work, successfully represented Belgorod State University in the international professional competition of future social work specialists.
The students presented a project on social and psychological support for individuals suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and their families. One of the goals of the project is to provide primary diagnostics of PTSD risk to the region residents, who seek social services assistance due to the consequences of military operations.
The competition consisted of several stages: “Field of Study Presentation” video contest, “Help in Crisis Situations” social projects contest, “That's the Situation” social cases analysis, “Social Erudite” comprehensive test and “Blitz-Questioning” competition aimed to evaluate theoretical knowledge.
During the competition BelSU students demonstrated a high level of knowledge and non-standard approach to solving situations. As a result of the intense competition students deserved the second place. The jury also marked the team as the best in solving professional cases.
