The annual event traditionally gathers scientists from different universities of the country and emphasizes important topics of our time.
This year the International Symposium of Young Scientists was held for the 12th time. The theme of the event was “Culture, philosophy, politics in the social experience of the 20th-21st century”. The event was in a mixed format, some of the speakers participated online.
Olga Prokhorova, the Director of the Institute of Cross-cultural Communication and International Relations, welcomed the young scientists. She reminded that the symposium usually takes place in April during the University Days of Science.
“I always come to this event with pleasure, as any symposium or conference is a platform for professional scientific communication. Here you can always express your thoughts, ideas and get constructive criticism. This is a very good start for new achievements,” – she emphasized.
The speaker also added that the exchange of research results is especially relevant in such research university as BelSU. The announced theme involves all areas of life, so all the participants of the symposium could find their area of interest.
Olga Koryakovskaya, Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Organization of Work with Youth of Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University named after K.D.Ushinsky, wished scientific success to the participants. She gave a short presentation, which reflects the uniqueness and peculiarity of the current generation – more ambitious than the previous ones and having its own aspirations and high self-esteem.
The symposium was divided into several sections: “Youth in the socio-cultural area and in the world of politics” and “Youth in the area of international political studies”. The participants read their reports and gave their presentations. A collection of materials will be published as a result of the symposium.
