The 10th International part-time Olympiad in Russian as a Foreign Language “We Speak Russian” was held at the Tambov State Technical University.
As Olga Lyutova, acting director of the Peoples' Friendship Center, noted, foreign students of BelSU traditionally take an active part in competitions and olympiads organized by different universities of Russia and abroad. It is not the first time that a team of students takes part in the part-time Olympiad in Russian as a foreign language organized by Tambov State Technical University.
This time the foreign students of different faculties from Haiti, China, Nigeria, Morocco, Syria, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Ecuador tried their hand in different nominations of essay, recitation and video postcard contests. They got eight first, four second and one third place in different nominations.
Thus, Chinese students of the bachelor's degree program “Philology. Russian as a Foreign Language” Yang Ming Xu and Wang Yan got first place in the essay contest in the nominations “How I see my place in the life of my country” and “Happy is the one who is happy at home”.
Essays of the student of the joint educational program of BelSU and Karshi State University Khuzhanazarov Oijamol from Uzbekistan and the student of bachelor's degree program “International Relations” Oloyede Sylvia Oluwafikayomi from Nigeria became the best in the nomination “My first meeting with Russia”.
The works of the student of specialists training program “Practice and Theory of Translation” Loayza Solorzano Silvia Fatima from Ecuador, and preparatory faculty student Ssevume Sudeis Yahaya from Uganda won first place in the nomination “Why I study Russian”.
The student of the preparatory faculty Kuifi Fatima Ezzahra from Morocco and the student of bachelor’s degree program “Philology. Russian as a Foreign Language” Ngatse Mouandzibi Pea Sorel got first and second places respectively in the nomination “My Family”.
The student of the specialty “General Medicine” Jean Shavinna Leonardi from Haiti got second places in two contests at once: the essay contest in the nomination “Happy is the one who is happy at home” and in the recitation contest in the nomination “My favorite poem in Russian”.
Jean Louis Jackson from Haiti, a student of bachelor's degree program “International Relations”, became the best in the category “Poems about Family” of the recitation contest.
The video postcards of “General Medicine” student Moreira Palma Jessica Juliana from Ecuador and preparatory faculty student Alkalani Lais from Syria got second and third places respectively in the nominations “The city where I study” and “The university where I study”.
The students got prepared for the Olympiad by lecturers of the Department of Russian Language, Professional Speech and Cross-cultural Communication of ICCR Natalia Shevchenko and Lillia Petrova and acting director of the Peoples' Friendship Center Olga Lyutova. The organizers of the Olympiad expressed their gratitude to the ICCR staff and the Peoples' Friendship Center for high professionalism and introducing foreign students to the cultural heritage of Russia.
