In 2024, BelSU is planning to admit more than 7,600 applicants at all levels of education and training, 3,706 of whom will be able to apply for places financed from the federal budget.
The peculiarities of the admission campaign of 2024-2025 were discussed at today's meeting of the Admissions Committee chaired by the BelSU Rector Evgeniya Karlovskaya.
Evgenia Karlovskaya drew attention to the fact that the university offers 367 educational programmes, including 18 network programmes - with foreign universities - in engineering, medical, humanitarian, natural sciences and pedagogical areas.
- The educational process uses distance learning technologies and internships in foreign and leading universities of the country, as well as at numerous partner enterprises of the university. The training is as practice-oriented as possible," the university rector emphasised.
Alexander Galtsev, Director of the Department of Pre-University Training and Admission Organisation, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee of BelSU, told the participants of the meeting - directors of institutes and colleges of the university, as well as heads of the relevant educational structures - about the deadlines and the procedure for application of documents.
He drew attention to the fact that applicants from border territories, including not only from Belgorod, but also from neighbouring Kursk and Bryansk regions, will be able to enter the university by internal university exams, regardless of whether they have passed the unified state exam(USE). There are 284 such schools in the Belgorod region.
- If an applicant applying for bachelor's and speciality courses is not satisfied with his/her USE score, he/she has the right to use the opportunity to take the entrance exam at our base. The best result will be taken into account during admission: if the USE score is higher, it will be taken into account, and if the best result is in the exam, the commission will take it into account. It is important that everyone who plans to use this right, until 10 July 2024, made a statement about it, applying to the admission committee or through a personal account on the website of the university in the section for applicants, - said Alexander Vladimirovich, noting that from 10 to 25 July begins the stage of intra-university entrance examinations.
More details about all the important dates for applicants can be found on the website of the Admissions Office of BelSU.
Speaking in general about the enrolment, the secretary of the admission committee said that this year the university plans to accept more than 7,600 applicants, 3,706 of whom will be able to enrol for funded places. First-year students will have the opportunity to study in the areas of training and specialities of humanitarian, natural sciences, pedagogical, engineering and medical profiles.
- More than a thousand applicants who want to connect their life with computer and information technologies, mining or oil and gas business, have an excellent opportunity to study on a budgetary basis. The Institute of Engineering and Digital Technologies has 638 budgetary places, and the Institute of Earth Sciences - 400, - commented Alexander Galtsev.
For a limited number of directions applicants will be able to enter within the enlarged group of specialities, which will allow to decide on the choice of direction after enrolment.
- The innovation of the 2024 admission campaign is the so-called multi-disciplinary admission. Each applicant can apply not for a specific training direction, but for an enlarged group of specialities. For six months, he or she will study general disciplines, and after the first semester, all first-year students are divided into programmes of study. This experience gives everyone an opportunity to try a profession and decide whether they have chosen it correctly or want to change something in their educational trajectory," Alexander Galtsev explained.
As an example, he told about the enlarged group of specialities "Economics and Management", which includes several programmes: economics, management, state and municipal management. Accordingly, an applicant who initially chose the "Management" direction of training can switch to "Economics" or other directions from the group after a semester without loss in the learning process and in the studied hours.
