The students who completed the distance learning under the student exchange program at Al-Istiqlal University were presented with certificates.
The ceremony was held at the Mahmoud Darwish Center for Arabic Laguage and Culture. It was attended by the students, lecturers and BSU staff, as well as representatives of the partner university.
On behalf of the of Belgorod State University administration the participants of the remarkable event were welcomed by Vladislav Kuchmisty, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation. He noted that the students and staff of the university show great interest in the Arabic language and Arabic culture, largely due to the fruitful cooperation with the Palestinian University.
“Together with Al-Istiqlal University – a reliable partner of BSU – many successful projects have been carried out. Thanks to their active participation the Mahmoud Darwish Center of Arabic Language and Culture is actively developing. There is a feeling of constant celebration here, and we understand that behind this celebration is the hard work of the team of people,” – he emphasized.
On behalf of the Rector of Al-Istiqlal University, the students of the program were welcomed by Dr. Nizam Salahat, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, and Dr. Mohammed Hassan Najajra, Director of the Sergey Yesenin Center for Russian Language and Culture, who expressed their hope for the continuation of the program and invited students and teachers to visit Al-Istiqlal University in the city of Jericho, as well as other cities in Palestine.
Mohammed Hassan Najajra presented the ICCIR students with certificates of completion of the program, and the project team – with gratitude from the Rector of Al-Istiqlal University.
Natalia Zhukovskaya, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the National Research University “BSU”, also expressed her hope for the continuation of the project, noting that the work of a teacher is hard and important, and wished peace to Palestine.
Student Sabina Kolycheva thanked the Arabic lecturer for the professionalism, authentic materials and interesting lessons. The participants of the program noted that by studying the language, they were able to immerse themselves much deeper into the peculiarities of the Arab culture.
At the end of the certificate awarding ceremony, the representatives of both universities noted that the work done is only the beginning of the journey. The parties expressed the opinion that it is necessary to increase cooperation in the educational sphere and return student exchange to the in-person format.
For reference: The student exchange program to study the Arabic language was implemented within the framework of the project of the "Priority 2030" program "Creation a favorable environment for interaction between students of BelSU and students from the Arab world". 26 students of the Institute of Cross-cultural Communication and International Relations were trained under this program.
