International Scientific and Practical Conference Fundamental and Applied Research in Chemistry and Ecology – 2024 took place in South-West State University in Kursk.
The hybrid conference, dedicated to the 60th Anniversary of SWSU, brought together both on-site and on-line participant students from leading universities of Russia and Belarus. They arrived to present their research, and while discussing reports, the students identified important guidelines to follow when developing their scientific work.
Belgorod State University was represented by students from the Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology Nadezhda Tarasova and Igor Tarasov.
Nadezhda spoke about a new method for reducing esters of indole-2-yl-carboxylic acids, with use of sodium borohydride.
‘These alcohols are an important substance for obtaining indole-2-yl-carbaldehydes, widely used in the synthesis of various indole compounds, which in the future can be used for drug synthesis,’ explained Nadezhda Tarasova.
Igor Tarasov presented the results of a study into the bioresorbability of a new type of modified nanostructured hydroxyapatite. The presented results were obtained as part of the work within the Development of Biomimetic Filling Materials for Dentistry Project supported by the UMNIK program of the Russian Foundation for Assistance to Innovations.
